Thirty Tows & Sixteen Miles

The Joys of Being a Paragliding Instructor

Dear Pilots,
I enjoyed our tow day today. I got to introduce flying off a mobile mountain---towing--- to 2 new P1 students and coach 30 flights total. Josh got to practice 360's, big ears and intentional assymettric deflations and accelerated towards his P2 rating with 9 flights in one morning! Demon---a new P3 student with <40 flights---was able to climb to 2,595' over and fly around for 23 minutes! Mike P.---a P4 Student---stayed up for 36 minutes, climbed to 2,640' and went XC 6 miles!
I was tired after coaching so many sucessful flights in the 100 degree sun but was motivated by the excellent conditions to cool off with a personal high flight. On my first and only tow, I climbed 5,000' over and had an enjoyable high & cool flight past Longmont! In only 63 minutes I covered 16 miles watching my Ozone Addict speed to the NW at up to 32 m.ph. ground speed with no speed bar engaged! I enjoyed flying over lakes and along I-25. These days are why I enjoy my job so much: bringing others into this exciting sport and getting to enjoy it myself.
Thanks to Tow Master Svein and Keith on his moto pulling the line out with few delays. They set a new Parasoft Record: 30 Tow Flights in one day!
